3D Science animation: How does an interferomer work?

3D Science animation about the use of an interferometer being used to measure accurately by combining sources of light and measuring the resulting pattern. Animation is a 3d rendered graphic which was timed to an interview audio, in order to bring it on screen during the science documentary.
